Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact) is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, a true beacon for companies that want to operate responsibly. Launched in 2000 by then Secretary-General Kofi Annan, it is not a regulatory body or a binding code of conduct, but a voluntary platform for leadership and learning. Its main purpose is to encourage companies around the world to align their strategies and operations with ten universally recognized principles derived from international declarations and conventions.

The goal is twofold: on the one hand, to promote sustainable business practices; on the other, to support the broader goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, which aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

The Ten Core Principles of the Global Compact, which NUR is committed to respecting and promoting, are divided into four fundamental areas:

  1. Human Rights: support and respect the protection of internationally recognized human rights and ensure that we are not complicit in abuses. For NUR, this means ensuring a safe and dignified working environment for all, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring that our values are free from any form of rights violation.
  2. Labor: supporting freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, eliminating all forms of forced labor, child labor, and discrimination in employment. At NUR, we translate these principles into advanced HR policies, fair pay, equal growth opportunities for all our professionals, and an environment where everyone's voice is heard and valued.
  3. Environment: adopting a preventive approach to environmental challenges, undertaking initiatives that promote greater environmental responsibility, and encouraging the development and dissemination of environmentally friendly technologies. For us, this translates into seeking low-impact digital solutions, optimizing energy consumption in our offices, and promoting sustainable practices both internally and with our partners and customers.
  4. Fighting Corruption: Committing to fighting corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. This principle is the foundation of our corporate integrity, ensuring transparency, honesty, and ethics in all our business transactions and professional relationships, building trust with customers and suppliers.
